This poster assignment was designed with type acting as image and the limitation of 3 colors maximum. The visual goal is to convey the feeling of Mars, the Bringer of War by Gustav Holst. The practical goal is to advertise a concert of the whole orchestral suite, The Planets, by Auburn University’s music department.

This poster successfully isolates letterforms and blends them overtop of each other to act as an abstract shape representing circular, planetary movement consistent with the forward-marching nature of the orchestral piece.
